Hocking Hills
Hocking Hills is in southern Ohio and it is an outdoor paradise. The star gazing is wonderful there and the John Glen observatory is near the state park. The night ski is void of light pollution. The rock formations and waterfalls are worth seeing. It's in the middle of nowhere with no big thrills just nature which is defiantly our family's jam.
Ash Cave is beautiful and an easy trail to hike. There's plenty of parking and it's well marked. It is paved one way and unpaved on the way back. We hiked it on our first day at the park and it was a great way to start off the trip. It's a 1/4 of a mile from the parking lot if you take the most direct way in. There is a beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail.

We camped at the state park and it is a wonderful place to camp. The sites are huge and there is a swimming pool open in the summer time. It's right next door to old man's cave so it's in an ideal location. There is a ranger station and they do have some supplies there but there is nothing else near by. Make sure you are not low on gas as you have to drive a ways before you can find a gas station. There is a general store 3 miles away that has soft serve ice cream and some supplies but it is small.
